Once upon a time, there were some screenshots here (from late Jan 2004) of a new look Google interface.
 
That new look is now live for the world to see on google.com.
 
So you aren't likely to find anything of interest here any more, unless you want an inspired piece of javascript coding that is now totally redundant.
